Anyone making Echanacia? Recipes needed, and is it too late to harvest now??

I just realized I have no more that my friend made last year. She is not making

more, and I would like to make some liquid for my family. I think, not sure you

pound roots and soak in vodka. I live in the north, the flowers have died down,

can I still dig roots to make this???

Is there a special time of the year?
