Guest guest
Hi Carol, Neroli oil sniffed is really good for helping relieve panic attacks. I know some of the gals on the list have had more personal experience with this as a reoccurring issue than I have. I'm sure they'll be chock full of help when it comes to ideas that might help out Mom. Best of luck to her. As for the facial hair issue - only things I can think of are .. waxing, threading and electrolysis - NO shaving though *lol* *Smile* Chris (list mom) Don't Miss The Perfume Locket Pre-Buy Perfect For Attractive AT On The Go Anywhere <http://tinyurl.com/57m82> http://tinyurl.com/57m82 http://www.alittleolfactory.com Carol Pearce [cjpearce] Hi all, My mom saw a specialist today, she takes panic attacks, and the Doctor tells her that she will probably start blacking out when she gets them. With what Mom tells me, the Doctor tell her that when she has an attack, her heart stops for a short time, and since there is no blood going to her brain, she will pass out. Sounds kinda fishy to me, but Mom is one of those people who thinks her Doctor is god, and since he is a specialist, he knows what he's talking about. So, Now she's got herself convinced that she going to have a blackout in her car, and she is refusing to drive. Does anyone know of a blend that would prevent a panic attack or calm her down as soon as she starts to get one? Mom's doctor has her taking pills starting today, 25mg for the first month, then it doubles, she's supposed to be on this stuff until the day she kicks the bucket. (Don't know the med's name ). So, any blend would be greatly appreciated, by all us kids who are being driven nutz by this loveable woman. Also, my sister is getting facial hair, a lot, and the bearded lady is looking for a blend to stop this, I told her that I didn't think there was such a blend, but I'd ask.. Guest guest
Carol, My DH suffers from panic attacks ... I was actually HAPPY when this diagnosis was reached. He had been hauled to the ER many times because all the symptoms mimic those of a heart attack. He is now on daily dose of Paxil and has a bottle of Alprazolam (Xanax) in case he feels an attack coming on. They reached that diagnosis for him about 5 years ago ... before I started studying herbs and EO's. These days, attacks are mild and he heads them off by grabbing either his bottle of lavender hydrosol or the healing mist that I make. Whatever blend of EOs you decide to use, I encourage you to add some herbal extracts as well. When I started adding catnip extract to this blend, it went over the top. Using lavender, rosemary and catnip extracts eliminates the need for additional alcohol. I also include flower essences (wisteria & elder) in this spray. HTH ... Guest guest
I cut down a panic attack by using magnesium...works well for me, for I also have arrhythmia and it quiets all down very well. That is with my cardiologists permission, full knowledge and he told me that it works with a lot of people who have mild arrhythmia. However, I do take reg meds for the electrical misfunctions in my heart, the magnesium just helps my medication. I was told 17 years ago that I would only live for 1 maybe 2 years with this condition, but am 60 now.... C-M

Guest guest
Thanks Linda, I need to do more research, my Mom hates Lavender and her fav scent in the world is cedarwood..So, I'll see if I can sneak some of that into the blend. Catnip , I'd rather not use right now, makes me throw up, lol.. Thanks for the suggestions folks... keep em coming if you have em.. Guest guest
Hi Carol, What the doctor said sounds fishy to me too...unless the information was overwhelming to her and she caught bits and pieces. The heart does not stop during a panic attack, unless there is new research out there. If someones heart stops causing blackouts pacemaker should be a consideration. Maybe a second opinion would be helpful. Your poor mom, this must be stressing her out. Paula
Guest guest
Thanks, My Mom is freaking out about the whole thing, I am going to see her tomorrow, and I will take her some oils, hopefully to make a blend for her to use. I think I'll talk one of my sisters into taking her for a second opinion. All my other sisters and brother live within half an hour away from Mom, where as I'm two hours away.
