Hi Cindy~ I have tried making my own shampoo with the premade stuff, but when

mixing the EO's it breaks it down, sooo I actually use the proffessional

shampoos that I can get with my license. I want to try it again. Because I

believe that Vita E has to be a good part of it. And the rinse factor. I do know

that jojoba can build up on the hair after awhile, and that some folks have

allergies to peppermint etc. (nuts???in some oils or bases)I am sure you

probably knew that though. I know that you proabably need an emulsifier, but how

to find one that is as close to NON chemical?? and one that wont build up in the

hair. I remember back in the 70's there was a beer shampoo and others that you

shook up the layers before using...remember?

Right now, I am into MP and learning CP and other ways to do " lye " made soap. I

want to make more of that. I really love laundrysoap smells, but they are FOs

mostly.

I would like to try that someday. Besides vinegar making a good astringent rinse

for the hair and skin, I put some in a bowl, on top of my dh's very LARGE travel

coffee mug, so it would get closer to the airflow of the ceiling fan above the

coffee table, and left it there all day. Hopin' the dogs would leave it alone.

well, came home and behold, the cigarette smells from his friends being over the

night before were nuetralized!!

Well, I was so pleased so I placed the bowl in the bathroom because the cat

litter box can be kinda strong, and it helped alot.

Next day, I did the same, and put in a few drops of Orange EO...it smelled like

APPLES when I got home.

Dh, even noticed. He said he was worried bout the ciggy smell, but wanted to

know how I got rid of it.

Dontknow if it will work for everyone, but its wortha try for the

airfreshening.Now...just do figure out a recipe for a spray bottle formula that

wont smell like salad dressing!! LOL!

Anyone???

Also, I used to have a string on a conversation about the definition of Handmade

and Handcrafted...I need the proper wording for my website.

Hugs to all, and I look forward to hearing from y'all!

Hi, Nessy!

Do you make your own shampoo? I just started with the liquid soaps (aka shower

gel?) and I sold a bunch of them - was really happy, considering the amount of

work that goes into getting it to come out " right. " I was thinking that I make

my own laundry soap (not for sale--personal use), my own soap that I do sell,

and now shower gels, so why not shampoo? I'm very sure that the commercial

" detergents " I'm using aren't great for the health of my hair.

Thanks!

Cindy
