The above information is incorrect. They may " say " that to make you believe it, but nowhere in the United States is it mandatory to vaccinate your children for school or otherwise. I have spent the last 10 years researching this subject, and there is a lot of misinformaiton out there. Also, CPS does not have the right to take your children or demand that they be vacinated. There is in place a medical/philosophical/ or religious exemption, and the parents have to write out which one they choose and sign it. NO school district can refuse to educate a child based on them not being vaccinated. NO SCHOOL. Also in regards to Texas charging fees to homeschool, this is incorrect also, and would be against state law( though HS laws do vary by state) As a homeschooler you pay for your childs education as well as pay the school district through taxes, they can not turn around and charge you. Just wanted to clarify. If you read this months issue of Mothering magazine they have some great articles on vaccinations. Also check out Thedrwithin.com, nvic.com and whaletoo.com. The best defense you have is to be educated. I know many parents with unvaccinated children, some whom are adults. My own 4 children are not vaccinated and are healthier than any kids I know. Please be informed and learn all you can. Also Niel Z Miller has a great book on vacs..very simple read. HTH!
