Hi Chris,

Coming out of lurkdom to ask if you'd share your technique......I've had the

koh for a few years now and would really like to make a batch of liquid soap

:~) I can't believe I'm so chicken.....LOL

I'm a big chicken too--my fiance dug me up a full face guard, so my last excuse

other than nerves is now gone...we'll see

what happens in the next week or so.

One question on liquid soaps--the info I have comes from writers who are

anti-animal oils. Can animal oils be used in liquid

soaps? If so, which ones? I'm thinking an anti-acne soap for someone special and

want to use emu (once I get a few good

batches under my belt), but not sure it's safe to use animal oils or if there's

another good reason these experienced ladies

don't use them in liquid soaps. Any ideas?

Hi Deb,

I'll be happy to share! :) Just let me warn you .. once you get liquid

soap making down, you'll have another soaping addiction to deal with

*lol*

I don't have time right now to write it all out, but I'll be sure to get

on it as soon as I can (some time this week for sure, hopefully sooner

than later - got several full plates that I am juggling)

I'm going to finally attempt it on Friday, when I'm off from work and have a

full day to dedicate to it. Please tell me I'm stressing over nothing and it's

really easy! lol

Cindy,

It is easy...I would make it more often if 1/ I had more use for it (I

prefer bar soap) 2/it was not so time consuming. It does not need your

constant attention, but it does need 3-4 hours in a row for you to

babysit it. I often make bread and liquid soap at the same time, as

the processes last almost the same amount of time, and I am rarely

sitting around for that long anyways. It is very simple, just follow

your instructions closely and be careful. Even if your first few

batches are not perfect, you will figure out what to do to get the

finished product that you seek. I made some today and last night,

using two completely different methods... so it's really not that hard!

Thanks, Eva! That does ease my mind a bit - I was thinking I have to babysit it

for 12 hours! LOL
