duct tape for warts

This is what the doctors told us to use for the ones on my Husbands feet!

It literally deprives the wart from its oxygen and grabbing of " other yuckies "

to feed itself. You apply a piece of duct tape, wait 24 hours, remove it, the

wart and area around it will be white. You are to scrape away the white skin as

well as you can, then reapply duct tape. Continue doing this until, eventually,

you will pull off the duct tape and find the " core " of the plantars wart on it!

Once the " core " is gone, it SHOULD heal, but they do come back. Also be sure to

not pick at it as, these do spread!

We were also told to use witch hazel, hadn't heard about the tea tree oil.

We were told to soak a cotton ball with witch hazel, squeeze it out til it

doesn't drip, stick it against the wart, then cover with duct tape.

newbie & duct tape for warts

hi, I'm new here, just joined, looking forward to learning more about herbs

and oils

about the duct tape, my dd had a wart on the bottom of her foot, we used tea

tree oil (not diluted) and duct tape and it disappeared

the duct tape seals the wart and smothers it

If you do get the 'core', they should NOT return. If you didn't get all of

it, they will come back. Not to say that you can't get them in other

places.....

I actually had several plantar warts on the bottom of my right foot....this

was way before I got into essential oils, and I had never heard of using

duct tape....

I went to a family doctor to have them removed, and he wouldn't do

it....said that I needed to go to a podiatrist (SP?). I didn't have

insurance that would cover the specialist's service....so I took care of the

problem myself. :) I won't go into all of the details regarding my

'bathroom surgery', but I can tell you basically how I did it. ;)

Soak the afflicted foot in very warm water. As warm as you can stand it,

but not so hot as to possibly burn you. (If you happen to be a diabetic, DO

NOT attempt this!!)

After soaking until the water turns cool, take a stiff fingernail brush, and

brush the wart, until it opens up. (The wart will be slightly swollen

because of the water soak, and brushing will cause the 'cauliflower' type

cluster to separate some.)

After scrubbing and opening the wart, apply a small amount of wart

remover....and cover with a bandaid. Leave overnight.

The next day, soak and scrub the wart again. Scrape away any dead

skin/wart. Do this again. Most of the time, this will heal the wart

up....sometimes the 'root' must be cut out. (which is what I had to

do....and it was pretty nasty.)

Sorry if this was a bit 'yucky'....but mine were really bad. And I went

through the above procedure for several MONTHS before cutting the buggers

out!

Next time, I believe I will do the duct tape thing. Much less pain and

stress. :)
