Working in a law firm we do a lot of real estate deals and the new owners inverable always have a problem with this. Some have ripped out wall to wall to get rid of the smell. I am adding this (if I may) to their list of things they can do prior to selling the house. Since Butch's report talks about rugs and turkish rugs, I want to add that in Germany it is common to take the carpets out in winter, put them upside down in the now and beat them with a rug beater. It is amazing how black the snow will be where you had the rug ! Than you brush the loose snow off and bring the carpet back in. Instant dry cleaning !
