Hiya Jeanine

That is some cool info to find out about the plant that inspired the

name of your company!

I haven't smelled the blue lotus personally so I can't comment on that

one, but I do believe it was list mate Bill who tossed out the idea of

doing a co-op on blue lotus .. Bill, are you out there .. was it you?

Hi Chris,

I have recently watched the most amazing programme on the History

Channel,

it was called Mysteries of Egypt :Sex, Death and the Blue Lotus. It was

amazing how scientists took samples from the Blue Lotus plants growing

in

Kew Gardens in England, slivers from the 2000 year old tomb of a 50 year

old

concubine and compared them through DNA with the gingko bilboa plant.

There

were many similar properties, (as well as a strong Viagra effect) and it

provewd the importance of the blue lotus at that time.

One of the first Australian Aromatherapy conferences had John Steele

telling

the story of the Blue Lotus and it very interesting reading. I am sure I

read on a list, and I think it was this one, that some one was keen to

have

a co-op buy some Blue Lotus essential oil. I had no idea about the

historical importance of this oil when I started my aromatherapy

business,

which is incidentally called Blue Lotus Aromatherapy.

Even if someone has smelled it, could they please describe the aroma....

Regards

Jeanine
