Guest guest
Age spots on the backs of hands (as elsewhere on the body) are a concentration of melatin that darkens due to exposure to ultra-violet rays from the sun. There are no REALLY effective natural methods to fade or get rid of them. The BEST SOLUTION is to to prevent them from developing by keeping the backs of the hands (and up the forearms) covered with at least a 30 SPF when in the sun or gloves and long sleeves. Keep in mind that in older people with a history of sun exposure, the risk of skin cancer in these life-long-exposed areas ( such as hands, nose, tops of ears) is greatly increased. Dermatologists have trouble with age spots, too--so the " natural " realm isn't the only group that has trouble with them. They freeze them off and they come back. They laser them off and though effective, they can come back and you MUST wear a sunblock. Essential oils do not work for these stubborn lil' things. I personally use the sun block and gloves when I am gardening.
