Guest guest
I think Chris Z. and another person were wanting this article or the site where this article is posted. Below is the article and the site. Paris Mickle~The Lily Cupboard http://www.hsrmagazine.com/articles/321news.html USP Forms Botanical Advisory Panel ROCKVILLE, Md.--The U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP) established an advisory panel on botanicals that will advise the organization's Dietary Supplement Botanicals Expert Committee on new information regarding the historical use, identification, global regulations and handling of botanicals. The advisory panel will also explore the feasibility of developing Authentic Plant Reference Materials. Historically, USP created standards for botanical products, but had not explored factors that favor optimal growth, handling and storage. The herbs currently being looked at are valerian, ginger, black cohosh and saw palmetto. The 12-member panel is headed by William Popin, director of research and development and quality for Young Living Essential Oils. Other panel members come from the American Botanical Council (ABC), Indena S.p.A. and the University of Exeter in England. More on the panel can be found at www.usp.org. Guest guest
The site listing the article and the one listed on the bottom of it " USP " appear to be something that they are not. The HSR magazine is one that promotes the supplement industry and the USP site comes off as being some sort of gov't agency or quality control organization when they are not. So, the magazine would have " journalists " writing articles to impart information on their own products and the " botanical Advisory Board " or whatever it is would be peopled with members of organizations pushing these products.
