These bumps came up from nowhere, and have now

spread. I have never seen poison ivy, sumac etc....so am not even sure

that this is what it is.

Has he been out in the fields or woods?? It doesnt look like Poison Ivy to me,

more like chiggers but I am sure that someone here can probably identify it much

better than I can. And I am far from being an expert at anything!

Hubby lost his job and insurance on 6/30, so Dr

visit is not doable right now :(

So sorry. Been there myself, with 4 children.

if anyone who has seen poison ivy etc could look at the pics and

tell me if that is what it looks like, I'd be grateful! Also.....is it

catching?

If it is blistered up and you come in contact with the " ooze " from it, yes,

Poison Ivy would probably give you the rash... but do a search on this list in

the archives for chiggers and see what all these good people have written about

it. Hope you solve the problem soon for Matthews sake as well as your own!

I could not open any picture..where to find it?

Rashes can have so many sources, especially in summer, where heat seems

to aggravate rashes.

One needs to deduct.

In small children , if rashes are in just the upper body after a high

fever, it often is Roseola

children who play outside can get into poison ivy, poison oak, can

even get it , if a neighbor is so stupid to burn it..

Rashes around the waistline in summer or neck, are often from heat.

Rashes or little bite marks can be from fleas or sand flies, even small

spiders that can hide in bedding

It's a little past strawberry time, but lot's of people break out after

eating strawberries..

Often takes a detective to ferret out those things.

If the rash comes with a high fever, boogie to the Doctor.

If the rash comes after taking new medication, boogie to the Doc or ER

even faster..

If it is P.R., it usually starts on the trunk of the body and spreads out in

a Christmas-tree-shaped pattern. If you look at him shirtless and stand

back, it is usually quite obvious. It is often brought on by stress, but

they really don't know the actual cause, nor do they know anything better

than time to make it go away. Use lavender hydrosol to help make him more

comfy if this is what he has.

When I get bit by a chigger it is usually in one spot or more. Chiggers usually

bit where the clothes are tight such as a waist band or sock tops but never a

pattern like that. Usually the spot is located in a hair folicle and the

itching is real intense (nothing seems to make it stop, not even the old stand

by of nail polish). Poisin ivy usually starts on the hands or legs and is

spread to other area (unknowingly) by rubbing the other areas such as the face

and neck with the oil which can be on gardening gloves, pets or even clothing.

Some folks are so allergic that when it is burned, the oils in the air infect

them. Kathy
