Guest guest
Hiya Chris: Hmmmm, I don't take the route that a human is not a good host for scabies to hang around. We had a major outbreak of them while I was in college in the wild 70's. That was the most miserable I've ever been and what a challenge to get beyond those buggers! At that time, we had to use some toxic prescription cream, it started with a K. Many years later it was discovered to cause cancer if used too much. We had to use the same two sets of clothing for 2 weeks, with the cream slattered all over under those clothes. We had to use a special shampoo made by same toxic company. Wash all bedclothes, and others in hot water and bag anything that couldn't be washed in hot water for at least two weeks. Plus there was a body wash in the same perscription. UGHHHHHH At that time, my mother told me that ole folks called it " The Seven Year Itch " and they had to boil clothes and use Sulfur based in Lard to get rid of it. You can still find 'Flowers of Sulfur', it would be great in an ointment and/or cream to help kill those buggers. They burrow under the skin and ablsolutely love creases and joints in the skin, ie ankles, wrists, elbows, hands, knees, misery just writing about it! LOL I had loaned my bestest friend either a bracelet or shirt is how I caught it, and it began on my wrist and quickly went to the back of the knees, elbows, neck, ankles, etc. GRRRRRRR EO's that supposedly work well are many, but the three that I will mention are: Balsalm Peru is supposed to be the best at killing the itch and the mite. Coming in behind and no idea how well they work are Lemongrass & Caraway. There is nothing that I've experienced that was more misery than scabies, and I certainly feel for anyone/anything that contacts them. Best places to catch them are out in the woods camping and such, or to get them from another. Wonder if jewelweed would help? Note: 'Flowers of Sulfur' will also keep snakes away. Draw a line of Sulfur around any area that you don't want a snake to cross. Does have to be redone when washed away due to rain. A most fragrant Sunday to you all, deb @ Swans' Nest
