Guest guest
Just a note; now i am not a mother, and i haven't tired these. but my expereince in a health food store leads to some interesting information: #1.. soy milk,. it is thought of by many as a repalcement for milk, but it is said to be jsut as hard to digest, and causing same senstivity as milk to some ( this i can contest to).. an also is hard on baby little tummies... #2 try alomnd milk, as this is a much wholer product, as far as whole foods go, it is easier on babies then soy... also it contains many protiens, and is often not foritified, making it easy on sensitive tummies,., #3.. for babies who are super sensitive, try switching to organic... often times its a chemical, or preservative, and by switching to organic versions you can rule this out, organic almond milk may be hard to find, but organic almonds are not, and i can provide a recipie for almond milk, if one cannot be found.. those are some things i thought i would share. also cautionary note on trying too many things at once.. especially with babies, and super senstive children. it often takes days to clear up something, or ahve something start working, so by trying too many things, it makes it hard to elimiante what is workign and what is not.. all the luck. my time will come eventually, so thanks for all the advice.. Guest guest
Carol, Just curious... How did they manage to get the child that fast to the allergist? I thought it would take months?? What a tough choice. Cows milk with all the hormones and antibiotics Soy milk that could come from genetically engineered corn...What a world we live in to have to make such choices...sigh.. My son did well on soy, he was on an almost 80% soy based diet for 4 years. He has healthy teeth, bones and a child But I swear , I still can smell the burps from the soy...( was not pleasant to me.. Hope the Docs shed some light on the histamine, that could play into his other sensitivities.. At 13 month, if it where my child , I might even try a little plantain in his drink, a light tea, but I am no Doc, just would prefer that over benadryl.. Watch bug bites with him and also bee or wasp stings, my hunch is he could react fiercely to them. C-M
Guest guest
I have no idea how she managed to get the appointment so fast, blew me away it did.I know that if it were me, I would have to wait for months..Maybe his age, got him in faster. Anyway, I am allergic to insect bites, so I can't go camping, so I can fully relate to what you are saying. As for the soy burps, all I can say is Ewwww!! LOL... You poor thing, I can't even imagine how bad that must be.. Were going to a Renissaunce Faire today, so I will let her know about the tea, although I;m not sure where she will get it. perhaps she will find it sunday in china town. I can say it enough, this is an incredible list and I wish to thanks all who have given suggestions, you have no idea how much it is appreciated. Carol. P.S. Christa, could you send me your email address, or better yet Charlie's address, so I can send him a card.. cjpearce Thanks. - " Christa Maria " <cmaria Saturday, July 24, 2004 10:16 AM Re: babies and milk alternatives > Carol, > Just curious... > How did they manage to get the child that fast to the allergist? Guest guest
I'm not trying to make waves but has anyone heard of the studies about giving boy babies (and even girl babies for that matter) soy milk and it having major ramifications when they are teens. (Soy is a phyto-estrogen, after all) And does anyone know where I can find the studies to read them? I've heard about them but haven't been able to read anything on it. Karen J Carol, Just curious... Guest guest
Karen, If you do a search on www.mercola.com, he has some articles there. Usually his articles are based on studies and then his comments follow, so you should be able to find some research facts. Very scary info about soy and babies!
