Guest guest
Carol, Have they tried Goatmilk? My nephew was born with a strange problem that wouldn't allow all of his stomach contents to go any further. He had a surgery at only a few days old.....and then started the projectile vomiting once again. My sis tried goatmilk and poof....problem fixed. Can't hurt to try! Best of luck to them both! Guest guest
Ok... I've thought about this.. The baby is 13 month old or so? The problem started about 2 weeks ago ? Before that he was fine? Cries all the time, when before he did not? What did you do before that is different now? Get the kid to a Doc and x-rayed..... He might have put something in his mouth he wasn't supposed to and who knows.. C-M

Guest guest
Hi, spoke with Judith, she tells me that his bowel movement are as regular as they have always been , there is no swelling or tenderness in his stomach bowel areas, and he eats his food without any problem... All of this started when she decided to wean him from the breast, last night she couldn't take it anymore and gave in, and he was still up 3 times.. She tried the Soya milk, and he refused to drink it, and whatever was in his stomach, he later threw up. She wants to send a picture of Aiden to the group, so you can all see who you have helped, so as soon as I get it I will post it to the pictures section. Ok, I'm off ...My web site that I have been working on since Feb, which was supposed to be launched to the public next weekend, has gone... My web mistress, transfered all the sites to a new server and they decided to reinstall an operating system before doing the back up, and wiped us all out.... Sigh... back to the drawing board. Guest guest
Carol... That sounds like deja vue... My son's trouble too, started when I switched from breastfeeding.. Save all the expensive testing and get him on nutramegen or nutramagen, I used to have to get it from a pharmacy. It saved my son's life ! Also when it comes to solid food, try a gruel ( not cruel) made from millet, it's high protein and neutral to a stomach. If he has a full tummy he might feel better, also let him still nurse, a little... My son was month old when I had to stop nursing due to illness. All hell broke out, his body would not assimilate food, and we tried the usual, all kinds of different formulas ( after all I had another kid that was allergic to formulas and had to use soy. ( worked for him) While we tried all those different things, the child became lethargic, lost rapid weight, got hospitalized, almost diagnosed as autistic ( he wasn't) and while the Doc's shook their head, considered surgery to 'explore', I took him to a famous children's clinic and that's where they put him on nutramegen. It's over 36 years, and the name might have changed, but I swear by that stuff. If she still has milk, maybe she can express it and put into a bottle, just to see if it makes a difference... Maybe the kid just has a hell of a tantrum because he can't nurse anymore.. If it is allergies, you have to be a detective, keep a diary of all he eats, is exposed to., it's not easy, but it will give you clues. Good luck, C-M
Guest guest
Thanks... I'll pass the info on to Judith..We don't pay for the testing, so if it gets done it's no big deal..It's all part of our health plan.. Thank God. Off to make lunch for the kiddies. Thanks Again Carol - " Christa Maria " <cmaria Thursday, July 22, 2004 12:07 PM Re: Carol/baby > Carol... > That sounds like deja vue... > My son's trouble too, started when I switched from breastfeeding.. > Save all the expensive testing and get him on nutramegen or nutramagen, > I used to have to get it from a pharmacy. > It saved my son's life ! > Also when it comes to solid food, try a gruel ( not cruel) made from > millet, it's high protein and neutral to a stomach. > If he has a full tummy he might feel better, also let him still nurse, > a little... > My son was month old when I had to stop nursing due to illness. > All hell broke out, his body would not assimilate food, and we tried > the usual, all kinds of different formulas ( after all I had another kid > that was allergic to formulas and had to use soy. Guest guest
Carol, Children will test positive for many allergens. Most do outgrow them by age 5. I have found that if allergy tests are done, and these are NOT pleasant (needles) and then the child is subjected to shots to *eliminate* the allergies........child usually ends up being allergic for life. In other words, allergy testing causes problems. I might suggest that your friend find a good homeopathic practitioner. Homeopathy will help this baby immensely. Guest guest
Oh Ok, I thought that testing had come a long way since I was a kid. Her family doctor would have to refer her to an allergy specialist, so I'll make sure she gets the info before she goes to the apointment. Thanks... poor kid has been through enough. Guest guest
Another possibility is the child has an ear infection. Does he cry and fuss and not want to lie down flat in bed? Does he perhaps have drainage from one or both ears? Does he not suck from the bottle or breast as vigorously (sucking, fussing, sucking some more, fussing...etc.)? My 3 month old grandson has had 3 ear infections with his eardrum rupturing on this last go around...but, he didn't fuss! The only way we knew he had a problem was when icky goo drained from his ear! We have been feeding Jordan sitting up....put the child on the lap, facing away from you, leaning back against the caregiver, sitting up, and feed the bottle. It is SO much easier to burp the child (however, at 13 months, a child is fairly independent, and may or may not want to be cuddled while being fed.) It is worth a doctor visit to find out... Guest guest
Hi, I told Judith about your email, and she tells me that the doctor feels that due to his age, and the fact that its upsetting sleep and brain wave patterns , it is the route to go.. I am forwarding your email to her, maybe she will reconsider? Thanks Carol - " Blackkat " <blackkat Thursday, July 22, 2004 12:27 PM Re: Carol/baby > Carol, > > Children will test positive for many allergens. Most do outgrow > them by age 5. Guest guest
Thanks Barb, for the response... This was ruled out today, he is healthy other than not sleeping.. Your poor Grandson, the pain that poor little kid went through, ear infections are awful, my daughter used to get them all the time, now swimming in the lake didn't help.. Now she's fine, not healthy, but good.. Carol - " Barb Jenson " <ravensara Thursday, July 22, 2004 1:07 PM Re: Carol/baby > Another possibility is the child has an ear infection.
