Guest guest
Hi Carol, This is not essential oils, but do you know anyone who is a Bach Flower Practitioner? Bach Flower Remedies are like a homeopathic tincture and are gentle enough to be used on all ages. In the short term, they could try giving the baby a couple of drops of Rescue Remedy in some water (perhaps mom could use some too). I don't know enough about the baby to say for sure but there are a couple of remedies which come to mind. The first could be Impatiens. Given to someone who has the key symptoms of impatient, irritable, excessive reactions. Also, Star of Bethlehem may be applicable and the key symptoms of this remedy are after effects of physical, mental shock. Often someone who is experiencing this will need comfort but, is unable to accept comforting. There are 38 remedies from which to chose and each remedy addresses a specific emotion. The remedy or combination of remedies is chosen based on the behaviours that are presenting themselves. For example there is more than one remedy for fear. The remedy mimulus is for fear of a known thing. The remedy aspen if for fear of the unknown and rock rose is for terror, panic, an extremely acute state of fear. The other thing that is taught in the Bach courses is that often times children display what they are sensing from their parents. So by giving the remedies to the parents, you can sometimes calm the emotions of the child. By the way, Rescue Remedy is a combition of 5 remedies. Star of Bethlehem for Trauma Rock Rose for Terror Impatiens for irritability and tension Cherry Plum for fear of losing control Clematis for keeping things in focus Perhaps this might help. Just a suggestion as it seems they have not been having any luck with lots of other things that they have tried.
