Guest guest
Hi, I'm Michel Vanhove, new to this discussion group. I'm from Brugge, Belgium but now living since almost 4 years in the South of France, in the mountains of the Cévennes, ancient place of the Huguenots and camisards. I'm working with essential oils since 20 years now, still have a company in Belgium which works with almost 400 professionals (naturopaths, palliative care centers, etc...) and also my French company here (on a very small scale yet). I'm distilling with a group of distillers nearby and sourcing oils for my partner in Belgium and some old clients in different countries. I rebuild a stock of oils here and am again working with approximatively 170 different essential oils. I love to work with small scale distillers and try to introduce different new crops here. My main work is education of the good use of essential oils, without distinction: today I started for instance a workshop for 14 children of a nearby city, they discover the use of essential oils and distillation at this very moment. I just finished another workshop last friday and still go to Belgium from time to time to give some courses and lectures. I love history and finding information on essential oils like a detective or pittbull would do: finding the real thing about the facts of distillation, harvesting, adulteration and use of oils. My wife and me had a health food shop in Belgium during 15 years, I'm still commited to organic food and ecological life. I know that aromatherapy is not the final answer to all questions, that you need to consider life style, health food, the use of herbs in all its forms , and above all have a healthy mental attitude and belief system. I have used aromatherapy so long already and have witnessed enough results to know that it is one of the most effectice and low cost therapys I know. You should know that I do not believe that " aromatherapy " should be restricted to external use only, we use it also as other phytotherapy products. I know quit some people active in this field and try to learn more every day. I was quit inactive the last years, rebuilding an existence here in France, which was not always as easy as I thought it would be. You can see more on my http://www.nature-helps.com pages or my http://www.nature-helps.org pages, for those of you that understand French... I was active on the idma list since it's very beginning and was missing the good discussions. I'm Dutch speaking, my mother is German, English is not my best language. Guest guest
If my grand parents were still alive they would be apx. 110 years old and George & Margaret would have been close to the same age, if that helps. My grand parents were also from the Flanders area. I remember in school when I took French I and would try to read the letters that came " from the old country " as Grandma always called it. Some of my family spell our last name as Vanstone but Dad spelled it VanStone. Guess spelling it as 2 words is the 'American' way of spelling. It would be neat to find out that you are related to the VanHove's I knew Paula ........in Michigan Coming soon Farm Fresh Soaps & Candles paula - Michel Vanhove Thursday, July 22, 2004 2:01 PM Re: Michel Vanhove Introduction Paula Coon wrote: >Welcome !
