Guest guest
What about Vit E, or Aloe? Put the aloe in the fridge and get it cold, then soak your wash cloth in it, apply some vit E on in before it dries. Rahnny
Guest guest
ok guys...need some info here - some of you may remember that I've had poison ivy this past month - from ear to ear, down my neck and on my chin - I had tried just about everything I could think of ... it kinda cleared up - for 3 days and then I got it again in the same spot - found some wonderful product called domeboro that really dried it up within 3 days - however, my skin is SO TIGHT and so raw, that everything that I put on it - including just plain olive oil burns...the only thing that I have found that I can relieve the pain is a wet cool washcloth, but as soon as my skin dries up, it is so tight that I can hardly turn my head or open my mouth..... which some may say is a good thing :-) ..... ok... does anyone have any kind of soothing balm that might help relieve the tingling sensation that I'm experiencing?? I'm sure its because the nerve endings have been burnt or exposed or something, and time will heal it, but in the mean time, I'd sure like some relief! I've also tried an indian beeswax balm with white willow bark, plaintain, and ?? that burns too...... Guest guest
Try some aloe vera gel with lavender and chamomile. It work for a co-worker who had sun poisining. Cleared her up in about 3 days. Scab came off and no redness was seen. I wouldn't rub it in just smooth it on and leave it be. Guest guest
Dear Pam, That sounds very uncomfortable. Ouch. I hope it gets better soon. Something I use on my legs that get irritated from shaving is store-bought gel with lidocaine: Lidocaine ( LYE-doe-kane) belongs to the family of medicines called local anesthetics (an-ess-THET-iks) . When lidocaine is applied to the skin, it produces pain relief by blocking the signals at the nerve endings in the skin. Lidocaine topical systems are used to relieve pain and discomfort associated with herpes zoster virus infection of the skin (shingles). The kind I have on my shelf right now is Banana Boat Sooth-A-Caine Aloe Gel, fast-acting burn relief, for sunburns. They say misery loves company, my current acute medical condition is a darned ingrown toenail, it's sure a doosey. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to get it 'fixed' along with a tetanus shot. DD stapled her finger this weekend so she gets to get a tetanus shot too, ha! Good luck with your recovery, Sincerely, Pamela Pam [pam] Monday, July 12, 2004 3:26 PM help for burnt skin ok guys...need some info here - some of you may remember that I've had poison ivy this past month - from ear to ear, down my neck and on my chin - I had tried just about everything I could think of ... it kinda cleared up - for 3 days and then I got it again in the same spot - found some wonderful product called domeboro that really dried it up within 3 days - however, my skin is SO TIGHT and so raw, that everything that I put on it - including just plain olive oil burns...the only thing that I have found that I can relieve the pain is a wet cool washcloth, but as soon as my skin dries up, it is so tight that I can hardly turn my head or open my mouth..... which some may say is a good thing :-) .... ok... does anyone have any kind of soothing balm that might help relieve the tingling sensation that I'm experiencing?? Guest guest
You might also add some Helichrysum oil to the mix. It is good for burns.
