Guest guest
H Rita, This can be something simple, but it can also be quite serious. If the swelling is painful and persists, it might be a symptom of a serious problem. I would recommend that your friend have a session with a person trained in Lymph Drainage Therapy, and they are all over the place. call a hospital or clinic for a referral. If there is edema, then over time, the lymph system and it's components become damaged, sometimes permanently and then the swelling and pain may not go away. This could be a symptom of cancer or a tumor. I, like most people on this list, always want to be in charge of my own health and shun the medical profession unless I'm really sick. But edema is not something to play around with, especially when it's persistent and to the point where it's painful. there is a problem somewhere and you need a consultation to find out what's going on. After you get a diagnosis and treatment plan, I'm sure there are lots of alternative therapies that would help speed the healing process.
