Guest guest
Here is a web page chock full of pictures of Jewelweed, info on how to find it and what to do with it. http://www.wildmanstevebrill.com/Plants.Folder/Jewelweed.html The info is written by Steve Brill. I knew this guy when I lived back in NYC - he was a regular customer at the health food store I worked at. He certainly is a character, but definitely knows his herbs and all about wild foraging! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com

Guest guest
Chris, Thanks for sharing...... I found the article fascinating, as I was not familiar with jewelweed. I really need to take a class or have someone show me the " real live " plants. I'm never sure by just looking at pictures. I know there's a guy in our area who does classes on " edibles " for survival, but I'm really interested in what's growing in my back yard that I can use medicinally. Know of anyone? I also found it interesting that Ewell Gibbons said the alcohol tincture went moldy. hmmmmm wonder if you could dry the jewelweed, then make a tincture? Of course, with the uses listed, maybe an oil base would be better anyway. Do you recommend " Wild Bill's " book?
