Guest guest
Hi Georgia, A hydrolat is the same as hydrosol--they are natural by products of hydro/steam distillation. Sometimes they are called floral waters, but I think sometimes floral waters can have added frangrances to them. Guest guest
Now i have a question, I bought a lot of floral waters, and their 16 oz each, and haven't used them, but how do I use them in a recipe? If something called for 21 ounces of distilled water would I use 21 ounces of hydrosol? That would be expensive. Marti
Guest guest
Marti, You could change out any part of the water for the hydrosol. For example, if I have a lotion formula that is 75% water phase, I can use distilled water AND hydrosol AND aloe vera AND herbal teas/tinctures in any combo to make the 75%. You are correct, using all hydrosol for the water would end up being expensive. HTH ...
