Guest guest
Just a side note to this. We live in Western Washington were we deal with wetland issues ALL the time. (the property we are buying, in fact, has over 50% wetlands). Washington is a state that believes strongly in preserving wetlands. For good cause too. In an natural wetland environment the mosquitoes is kept under control by natural predators (bats, fish ect). Having said all that.... the biggest help for the mosquitoes that are known to carry/ pass on west nile virus is not wetlands, rivers or ponds it is little pools/ puddles of water around peoples houses. So everyone check around your house for old buckets, tires(these are the worst, because they are warm too), plastic, anything that will hold sitting water. Eliminate those and you will reduce the risk of contacting this virus. HTH someone Karen J
