First .. its the REAL Butch .. I switch back to Down Home soon as I git back to Kentucky .. I was born in Nashville .. raised on the TN-KY line. As for Maryland not being South .. depends on what part you tawking about. Friendsville (which I never lived in) is in Appalachia .. on the West By Gawd Virginnie Line .. in that Nawthwest finger tucked twixt Pennsylvania and WV. Closest town bigger'n 5,000 folks is Morgantown, WV. The folks at the bar in Friendsville often say that Friendsville wasn't Yankee enough to be in Pennsylvania and was too Redneck to be in West Virginnie. ;-) > lol > > As for beer drinking - you might be hard-pressed to find someone to outdo my > Brit hubby on that one. Don't want nobody to outdo me .. just keep up with me and wake me up when the feesh start biting. > You must look us up when you're back in the states.....he will use any excuse to > fish and drink beer....and get this - he doesn't need my permission! Fair it is .. responsibilities come first (ceptin during the time the bass be on the bed) .. and I'm glad you ain't no silly wife whut needs to give permission .. plus glad he ain't no silly man whut needs to ask fer it. ;-) > I don't need to be his mom, too! Gud attitude that is fer'shur .. wishing y'all many more years of happiness. :-) > And....he uses live bait, not plastic worms - ick. Can't use live bait in a Bass Tournie .. its contrary to conservation laws .. introduction of species whut ain't nat'ul into the lake. And Bass don't sniff a bait nohow .. they be stalkers and killers so its gotta be moving just rite and gotta fool ol' Mr. Bass. > I do wish he'd go easy on the reels, though - they are getting a bit pricey! Deep sea rods and reels cost more than our fresh water rigs. > And when I think of how many hydrosols and EOs I could buy with that $$$!!!! Guest guest
Hi guys Had to share the " feeshing " stories with my SO -- he is majorly into " practice casting " thats when you don't catch anything. The part about " gotta have a tackle box with $7,500 worth of fancy lures which you never use .. and a dang 17 ft Ranger Deep V (hand made in Flippin, Arkansas) with a 175 HP Johnson and a couple'a trollin motors .. and 7 expensive rods/reels cause there's no time to switch baits and that's the legal limit in most tournies. " He can really relate to -- He must have at least that much in SEVERAL boxes -- sounds like a good time ahead!! We live in Colorado where you have to throw the fish back -- Hard to have a good meal when you have to throw them back -- oh well its the " practice casting " that is the fun part -- so I'm told. He isn't into the suds but give him a bottle of black label and he is set for the day. Actually he discovered a very fine Sottish scotch called of all things " Sheep Dip " Each to their own have a great 4th Rita Butch Owen <butchbsi wrote: Yo Lana, Cindy .. > LOL!!! Cindy, I doth believe the man is a braggin'... Git 'im good. <grin> IF .. you live in the South .. where we got them Hawg Bass .. cause ain't nuthing but Bass minners in the Nawth due to the short growing season .. and IF your husband has a bass boat .. and likes to drink beer and tell lies (which are requirements for fishermen ceptin you can't have no beer in the boat during tournies) then on my swing through Gawd's Kuntry twixt the latter part of July through mebbe the middle of September or so .. I'll be happy to stop by for some lessons. ;-) Part II .. just saw this one. ;-) > Oops - my mistake - he goes deep sea fishing........sorry. I guess just > as you don't know (or want to know) soaping and the like, I know less > about fishing. lol > Cindy Deep sea feeshing .. be it trolling or bottom feeshing .. is a good time for all .. and its meat feeshing .. and I like it. But sea feesh don't got no smarts .. you just catch'em. Them Hawg Bass is smarter'n the average feller .. you gotta pay attention to temperature and Ph of the water .. gotta have a tacklebox with $7,500 worth of fancy lures which you never use .. and a dang 17 ft Ranger Deep V (hand made in Flippin, Arkansas) with a 175 HP Johnson and a couple'a trollin motors .. and 7 expensive rods/reels cause there's no time to switch baits and that's the legal limit in most tournies. Then you gotta watch some local Redneck whut knows the lake come out with a paper sack fulla plastic worms in the rite color (which he knows but you don't cause he reads the water better than you do) and see him tear you a new butt with his $14.95 Zebco 404 rod/reel and his $1.79 worth of plastic worms. And the heck of it is, folks don't get to keep the feesh in a tournie nohow .. its catch and release so them you do catch (less'n you be that Redneck with the paper bag) cost about $350 a pound. It ain't .. meat fishing. ;-) Butch > Folks gotta be better than purty gud if'n they gonna be teaching me > about largemouth bass fishing.
