Guest guest
Martin good morning, On the subject of Australian Sandalwood oil you are talking nonsense! I realise that you need to maintain the preceived notion of 'expert power', but on this subject you are wrong. Don't discourage people from using this very beneficial oil on the basis of spurious information that you have gleaned from somewhere or other and then claim to be fact. It is counter productive. Unless you are prepared to come to Australia and talk to growers, distillers and suppliers you cannot speak with any authority. You also used the word examination where I used discussion. They are not the same thing. The British Broadcasting Corporation has stuffed up in the past on a few items, but you know your media better than I do as I know our ABC better than you. If people find the strong examination of what they do, how they do it and what they use, etc. distressing or boring then they have no right being in the health care business. It is exactly that kind of covering up or prettying up critical examination of the facts which has got this trade into the state it is. That state is people preferering to accept fairy tales than the facts. Oh by the way, never assume that TV broadcasters such as the BBC are terribly professional nowadays as recent events here have shown. I would put my faith any day in assembling facts from numerous sources than what a TV programme tells me. >I think I would trust my Australian Suppliers a lot more< I have written on that one before on this group. Many suppliers will tell you what they think you want to hear. Martin , Merinda wrote: > Morning Martin, > > the ABC I mentioned is the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Their researchers have a great deal of credibility and the programme Landline (Thanks Dennis, had forgotten the name) is information about farming techiniques and product. It is very much government owned. > > Quite frankly, I would trust them sooner than various well-known authors as they do not have a 'position of expert power' to maintain. You are holding too tightly to oldfashioned ideas and appear to be very scared of new ones. Allow other people to have access to new oils so that they can see what is available and how wonderful they are. You remind me too much of a lecturer I had who indicated that if she didn't think it was worthwhile teaching about an oil it was worth while knowing about it. Such a silly attitude! > > Never mind, Martin. I am sure that there are many people out there who still think well of you, I'm just not one of them. Guest guest
>but on this subject you are wrong.< If I am wrong then so are all the numerous references on the web sites bearing the articles to which I referred. The discussion was about the sustainability of Australian sandalwood trees. Seems pretty conclusive that these trees are not being replanted in the wild locations where they grow. I can't find anyone who is saying different including the producers themselves. So until the plantations come on stream in a hundred years the natural habitat is being depleted. Can you provide any references that this is not the case as I have provided references saying that this is true?
