OK --- I tried to search the archives for help on this but couldn't find

anything, but it seems like I remember a discussion some time back. My

dd has a fever blister/cold sore. She has been using campho phenique

(sp?) but it doesn't seem to have helped much. Suggestions, please???

TIA

Tea tree works on this. My dd used it for about 3 days neat and it disappeared.

She said the taste was terrible but it cured this sore fast. Kathy

Crush an aspirin and dab some of it on the blister at the first sign.

Or, if you have Melissa offic. growing, chew a leaf and dab it on the sore.

L-Lysine taken at the first inkling will do a good job, too...

the aromatherapy specific is Melissa... melissa officianalis... in a very

low dilution...1% should do...it's a skin and mucous membrane irritant so

keep it very low...

if you have the fresh plant, you might try a poultice of the leaves....

That's what we use for them around here. Just dab a tiny bit on once or twice a

day. It stings a bit at first but heals quickly......smells good too.

Hi C-M

And thanks for that tip.

I was halfway through infusing some lemon balm oil when I got my last cold

sore but I'll definitely try the fresh leaf next time.
