Marti/Neem Oil or advice for psoriasis and eczema

Greetings, Marti,

Here is information on two similar oils used for what you are interested in;

I have used both and prefer Karanja Seed Oil. I simply choose this one over

the other for the non medicinal aroma.

Neem Oil

BOTANICAL NAME -Mellia azadirachta

INCI: Melia Azadirachta Seed Oil

Neem oil has great germ killing properties (much like Tea Tree Oil)! A dark

oil with a strong odor, you will need to use this oil sparingly in skin care

products so that you may be able to cover the smell of this oil with your

fragrance oil or essential oils. Neem oil is good for skin irritations and

disorders such as eczema, psoriasis, rashes, acne, and even burns. When

adding to soap recipes, a good ratio is 1 oz of Neem oil to a 5-8 pound

batch of soap.

Karanja Seed Oil

BOTANICAL NAME -Pongamia glabra

INCI: Karanja Seed Oil

An oil similar to Neem in its antiseptic and healing properties without the

strong harsh odor! Karanja Oil is said to be effective for the same

conditions as Neem Oil, and can be substituted in equal amounts for Neem oil

in your formulas for eczema, psoriasis, acne, etc. (There is a difference in

SAP value, so make sure to run your recipe through a lye calculator when

making the substitution.)

The scent of Karanja is kind of woody, smoky and nutty. Karanja can be added

in amounts of up to 20% in soaps, and the scent does not overpower. It can

be used in creams, salves, serums and soaps. Another awesome benefit of this

oil is that it is extremely effective for " pain-relieving " products.

Neem Oil or advice for psoriasis and eczema

I am looking for neem oil, my mother asked if I would make soap for her

psoriasis, or what would you suggest instead of neem oil, really appreciate

it, also I have tons of clients with eczema, looks like many people with

skin conditions. I sell Shea butter to help it, but I am looking for

infusions and directions,Marti
