Guest guest
Hey y'all, >>Thanks so much for the great information on the Sandalwood EO. Btw, the >>Sandalwood Mysore Agmarked EO is only selling for $10 AU for 5ml, the >>Sandalwood Australian EO costs $8 AU for 5ml and the Sandalwood East >>Indian EO costs $22 for 5ml... First .. those who have lived in Emerging Market and/or Third World countries know that money drives the train .. and greases the palms. Ag Marks have a price .. just as do other government rubber stamped documents. The Indian Government is corrupt when we evaluate with Western minds .. but what is corruption to us is a routine manner of doing business to many other countries. The problems of communication today are many .. some folks say what others would like to hear rather than like it really is. In Government Speak between governments this is called RealPolitik .. in communications between folks .. like this post, its called Political Correctness. I despise Political Correctness and refuse to adapt it because folks never really know where you stand. $1 Australian - $ .69 US .. So they are selling 1 - Sandalwood, Mysore at ... $ 6.90 for 05 ml 2 - Sandalwood, Australia ... $ 5.52 for 05 ml 3 - Sandalwood, E. Indian ... $15.18 for 05 ml ALL of the above prices leave NO PROFIT MARGIN for the seller. The Mysore price is pretty close to production cost .. add shipping, customs processing, testing, bottles, labels and labor costs to fill bottles and the one offering the above prices is either nuts or hoping the Pope recognizes them for Sainthood .. or .. selling products I don't want. > isn't it a bit too confusing to which is to be the right one to choose Only if one doesn't know the TRUE VALUE of the various Sandalwoods and uses only posted prices as a factor to determine supposed value. >>(apart from the Mysore here being so cheap)? Mysore is not cheap in India. I refused to buy it last Fall because the price increased over 25% due to back-to-back religious holidays .. the Indians use a lot of it then .. and the distiller I deal in India even recommended I wait till after January 2004. AND .. this was NOT a 2003 crop in the first place .. it was 2002 crop/distillation. The cost of on hand stocks rises and falls as does a stock market. >>Should I be doubting the integrity of the Mysore EO? As a minimum .. you should doubt it. ;-) When someone offers a 2004 Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 Roadster or Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet for under $15,000 .. a kilo of Turkish or Bulgarian Rose Otto for $5,800 or a Rolex Watch for $39.95 .. we should question it too. But I can find such prices advertised. > if it sounds too good to be true..... > Right .. it normally ain't true. ;-) > (I'm sorry... but that is JUST such an amazing price. I would expect > true mysore to be the most costly santalum.) You would expect right .. matters not if one is in Lower Slobovia, the Upper Siberia or Downtown New Delhi, India .. TRUE Mysore Sandalwood (Santalum album) will ALWAYS be MUCH higher in cost than the others. Mysore is generally 20% higher than Tamil Nadu Mysore is generally 60% higher than Australian Mysore is generally 35% higher than Indonesian And Ag Mark Mysore is generally 10% higher than the IDENTICALLY SAME Mysore without the Stamp .. > Your source for superb Essential Oils, Aromatherapy > Accessories, Information, Books and more! > Visit us at: <http://www.naturesgift.com> Folks got stuck with some badly adulterated Rose Otto last year .. I mean kilos of badly adulterated Rose Otto. I won't say where it was from .. except to say it was not Turkish. And this is NOT a ploy to get folks to buy Turkish because you can't do that anyway .. I have a half dozen fairly large buyers on hold now .. waiting for the 2004 prices to be determined. That will happen in early July .. but even then odds are that I will NOT be able to fill half the orders/inquiries because the demand vs supply has increased considerably in the last two years .. and most of it is committed to large companies even before production! Basically, I am all but OUT of the Wholesale Rose Otto business. After I TRY to fill some of these requests its all Retail from here on. Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
