Guest guest
HI Chris; Thank you for your comments and questions..The post from Christina was very helpful to anyone interested in learning more about homeopathy, and she has pointed out the dangers of self care ,and she is right.....I also think her suggestion to buy a homeopathic kit is good too....usually the kits contain a helpful description of the remedies and their uses....and she is right that you can't usually generalize about treatment,as homeopathic remedies are chosen to match the individual person......however,a remedy like Ledum is an excellent general remedy for bites. I also feel that homeopathic medicines can be very helpful to have on hand, and I think the kits are a good place to start..It would be wonderful if everyone could learn about this system of medicine from professional homeopathic teachers, but this is not always possible. The books Christina recommended are excellent. Now ,having said all that .....when I hear about Poison Ivy itching I would like to suggest that if the rash is acquired,it is a good idea to wash the affected part with a good volume of flowing water, scrub hands and fingernails, change and launder all clothing...to remove the oily resin (toxicodendrol) which is present in poison ivy,and the slightest contact with this will cause the rash to spread.Treatment of the established rash may be given as follows...give either Ledum 30c every 6 hours,or rhus toxicodendron 30c (rhus tox is poison ivy),every 6 hours...stop the remedy when improvement begins.Externally, apply the following lotion....Grindelia tincture...mix 1 drop to 9 drops water.....it is very helpful to combat itching....! These remedies are homeopathic first aid.... What do you think about this Christina? Anne
