Guest guest
Ok, here it goes (deep breath). 1. I have been celibate for 13 years (ya, you read that correctly) 2. Old boyfriend got in touch, asked me out (even without seeing what I looked like after all these years). Said I really held up for an old broad. 3. Yep, still interested in him 4. Things progress (sorta) My mind says yes but nothing else is interested (if you need a better explanation your way too young) 5. Asked friends at lunch (same age) for advice and here is what they came up with. A. Girl, go back on your hormone replacement therapy. B. This is to much work, stay celibate C. Tell your Dr. ( I am next week, he is my new Dr. not sure I can be candid) D. Have him prescribe testosterone (I already own stock in Nair) E. Stop taking hormone replacement therapy F. Get drunk and relax G. You will have to re-learn all of this, is it worth it? H. Geez, your an old broad. What did you expect? I. Give it some time. (How long?!? It's been 13 LONG years!) J. Ask all those " soap group " people you spend hours with, someone will know. So, are there any herbs, etc, that will work on this old broad? I really don't want to go back on hormones but .........anything natural out there that will work? Testosterone? I don't want a mustache to match his. I don't drink (yet) Do you think it's tooooo late? Waaa, sniffle, sniffle. Kat (who can't believe she just told total strangers the most intimate part of her life and is worried about talking to her new, cute, sexy, young Dr.)
Guest guest
Kat, If we were within 15 miles of one another (and heck.. we could be and I might not know it!), I'd give you a huge hug for sheer bravery for allowing us into your life and your dilemma! Good for you on your 13 years (and yes, I actually mean this sincerely!)! And congratulations on your old boyfriend! I'll almost guarantee that these amazingly smart people will have something up their sleeve that will totally get you through this with flying colors! And NO, it's not too late, silly lady!!! I can't go back on HRT, so I'm going to be interested to see what the folks in the know come up with.... I may try some of their suggestions myself! Hugs, -- cjk Ok, here it goes (deep breath). Guest guest
Hi, First, I highly suggest you read Suzanne Somers " The Sexy Years " which was just published a couple of months ago. Subject: Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. Natural - not synthetic. In the meantime, type in bioidentical hormones in the search engine and start reading. They don't have the risk synthetics have from everything I've read and experienced. I take them and am a firm believer in them. Second, if you are mentally/emotionally really interested, you can work with the physical. After all, you have been " unstimulated " for 13 years. Third, there are yoga practices that will help. Fourth, there are herbs that help once you get the " on " switch flipped again. If I can help further, please feel free to email me. Guest guest
Hi, I answered before reading other's post of interest. If you can share your concerns, I don't mind telling my story. I could not take HRT's as I had a reaction, couldn't take antibiotics 30 years ago so started learning homeopathy, etc. Necessity requires alternatives. Ten years ago one of my best friends who is an incredible Doctor in Santa Monica, CA put me on natural hormones. When all the " hooplah " came out about the hormone/breast cancer trials I stopped taking the HRT'S abruptly, not knowing the trials were just with two synthetics. During the 18 months I didn't take HRT's I started aging dramatically; sleep problems, skin aging, couldn't multi-task, mood swings and little libido. When Suzanne Somer's book came out, I got an " AHA. " I called my friend and started back on bioidenticals. In one week, I started feeling better. After a month, I could really tell a difference. I understand it will take about a year to fully reap the benefits. I am 66, married and my personal belief is intimacy is important to my marriage of 30 years. I started last Fall working with some Yoga practices, taking some herbs (which I get from " Beyond A Century " ), I am doing cardio and weights at the Y. My husband is also going to get the blood tests for taking the bioidenticals. I don't think they will prevent aging, but I am convinced one ages more gracefully and can still enjoy an active, healthy sex life as one of the benefits. I hope this helps. Guest guest
Bobbye, Can you explain a little about bioidenticals? My new Dr. said that HRT is not that bad. He had me taking them every three days instead of every day but I stopped taking them months ago. I must say that I did feel better on them. Thanks again, Kat
