Many run for the presidency but those elected take on a very difficult burden.

Even though we criticize, whether they be democrat or republican, and damn them

if they do or they don't, most wouldn't have their job on a silver platter. I

pray that Mr. Reagan will now be at peace, body and soul and that Mrs. Reagan

will take comfort in that. God Bless President Reagan.

MAKE A HAPPY MEMORY EVERY DAY:

Hi Deb,

> morning butch,

> yes, reagan was one of the only presidents that could pull off

> that type of talk and did it alot.

Yep .. matter of fact that is.

Good show on all counts. :-) Especially the EOD work .. I've jumped

out of perfectly good airplanes and lots of other nice things but there

is no way they could have paid me or made me get into EOD .. or the the

US Naval Submarine service .. no way. I salute those folks.

I hear you .. and I believe it. My mother suffered the last six years

of her life with Alzheimers .. only during the last year did she forget

who we were .. and when she went over to the Other Side it was both a

painful thing and a relief .. she was not enjoying life.

>>I came to the conclusion that only the Great Communicator could have said

those

>>those words, " Mr. Gorbachev .. tear down this wall! " without sounding

threatening ..

>>the look on his face at the time was one of strength and compassion.

Ronald Reagan was respected even by those who did not necessarily like

him .. and nobody can be liked by all when they are in a position of

great power. But I have yet to meet a foreign military person who did

not respect him .. and just today I received the following note from a

friend here .. Rear Admiral Isik Biren ..

> My Dear Friend Butch,

>

> I would like to express our cordial codolances to our American friends for the

> loss of a great leader on behalf of Turkish Friends of America and their

family

> members, President Reagan ended the COLD WAR by using his leadership talents

> and foresight. Although he was not a raised strategist, but no doubt he had

> tremendous common sense. Free world wh?ch shares the common goals and values,

> will always remember President Ronald Reagan as a great leader who knew how to

> lead and use the right assets to convince the so called formidable Soviet

> Empire to yield to our free world Alliance.

> So let GOD receive his great soul and let him rest in peace .

>

> All the best.

>

> Admiral Isik Biren

May President Ronald Reagan rest in peace. :-) Butch
