Hi Christa,

Just thought I would tell you about a programme on our TV last night, ( I

am in New Zealand) It was of the landings at Omaha Beach in Normandy, as

told by Americans, English and Welsh men who landed at beaches nearby. Also

they had a young German gunner who was in the trenches and shooting these

soldiers. As they all said, they were just doing their jobs, and as they

spoke it was heartwrenching, especilaly when they said they lived with that

day for the rest of their lives. As I watched it, it was just so abundantly

clear that it was just a waste of life.

There are no rights and wrongs in these situations to me. But then, I was

not alive during the war, so pardon me if I have offended anyone.

A few years ago, I was up at the local mall, in a very grumpy mood trying

to find a carpark. I saw a park and as I went towards it, a car with an

Asian family shot in front of me and got the park. As they faced me, I was

screaming at them, and to my utter dismay, they quickly backed out with fear

on their faces and drove away. I was so ashamed, and yet understood how easy

it is to feel ......they are in my country, I am in the right...I was

mortified when a small voice of my son said very quietly, " Mummy, do you

want me to buy you a gun turret and some rocket launchers for your car " . It

was a powerful lesson for me. Live and let live.

I think your mressage was lovely and I thank you for sharing it.

Hi christa and Jeanine,

Thank you for sharing.

Being born and raised in Japan, and my mom being a survivor of the

Tokyo bombings, I've been exposed to all kinds of horror stories of

the war. It's just so awful that it's beyond good or bad, or right

or wrong. It's beyond anger or hatred. It just has to stop. I know

people have different opinions, and I don't know the best way to

stop dictators, but I have this strong gut feeling that I dislike a

war itself so badly.
