Guest guest
Hi Butch, Know your right on this. Yes its a good excuse. Sadly I don't think any of us will ever live long enough to see world peace. Someone is always going to want more. Smiles Nancy Hi Nancy, > Hi CM, > Your letter is long and heartwarming. Like you I believe what you say here. I agree that fighting over religious issues is foolish. But being a fairly decent student of history I know that there have been few wars fought based on religious issues .. religion is rarely a reason .. its an excuse .. an excuse good enough to fire up the sick & weak of mind. Since the beginning of time wars have been fought for economic gain .. be it for land for expansion, natural and man-made resources, free labor pools, and distraction from other political and economic issues .. which was the primary reason for the Crusades. But the above only applies to nation-states because wars can only be fought by nation-states. There has always been and will always be those whose sociopathic leanings make them ripe for exploitation and there have always been charismatic/psychopathic or sociopathic leaders to lead these folks and fire them up with ideological and/or religious fervor. They are generally called terrorists and rarely are they nation-state sponsored .. though too often they are nation-state tolerated. The meek might well inherit the Earth .. but they can darn sure plan on being crapped on a whole bunch afore they get their inheritance. > Have a Great day. > Nancy > > The time to fight over religious issues should have stopped after > the last crusade. Y'all keep smiling. :-)
