Presentation: Neuroma (nerve tumor) in foot / chronic pain with acute

pain upon walking.

Diagnosis: surgery to remove nerve from foot.

Person wants to wait till winter for surgery when weather is dreary

and better time to stay inside.

Wish to hear various recommendations to alleviate pain in foot and

nerve tumor. Using eo's even though I think Butch's bourbon idea

would help immensely except person doesn't drink ;)

Sue,

I have a neuroma ( a.k.a Morton's) in both feet.

Was told to have surgery 20 years ago.

Wide shoes with a good footbed, such as Birkenstocks or clogs are the

answer.

For the pain goes go away when you wear the right footwear.

Also, there is a Chiropractitioners trick, that hurts like h..l, but it

works to give long term relief.

To take the toes, and massage and rotate, pull, every joint in the toes,

individually. It hurts when done, hurts for another day, but after

that, if done right and narrow, very flat or very high shoes are

avoided, one is painfree for many more years.. I had it done and it was

worth the pain...:)

Can you tell me more about this neuroma, please? I have this " lump " in my

foot - it's located between the heel and arch. It is extremely painful when I

walk. I have not gone to the doctor. Pain does recede with massage. Wearing

new Reebok walking shoes helpful also.

Thanks,

I have some kind of foot problem I thought it was something like plantar

phasia. I had only wore Birkenstocks for about 25 yrs, so I was very surprized

to find I had a problem. For all I know the Podiatrist did not like Birks, but

he did tell me that the sandal did not have any support for my foot and my

foot was moving all around left to right, and that I need ed to wear a shoe

with support. This was about 4 years ago. I then went and bought a good

tennis shoe, but wanted one that was real big so bought a mens size 10. I guess

I

still did not get it, I needed a shoe that was support, and when I got the

huge one it was not supportive enough.

I found some Clarks and bought mens because they looked like they were

support, and they are pretty good. The problem seems that when I go to bed and

have no shoe on, is when the feet tend to go numb. Has anyone ever heard of

this. I do not go to the doctor, but when I did Kaiser had my feet checked with

something that felt like a little shock on different places of my foot. I

passed the test which meant nothing as far as my feet go. I have worried a bit

about diabetes, well one thing and another. I guess I will go back to the

Chiropractor, as another theory from my sister is that this comes from my low

back and nerve energy might get cut off all together. Who know what that would

be like. I am finding out a lot of people have foot trouble. sharon

Theresa,

I can not explain aneuroma very well, you might have to google to get

specific medical information, or someone else can explain it better.

Morton's which is what I have a neuroma of the little toes,or one or two

effected.

Different from what you have.

Try different shoes, it can make such a huge difference, and see how

they can help.

Also consult with a chiropractor. I don't believe they can heal all

diseases, but they know their bones and nerves and know what to stretch

so the neuroma has room and does not hurt.

I know it hurt badly when my toes got manipulated by a chiropractor and

wondered the next day, why I had submitted myself to such a

procedure..BUT the relief afterwards lasted for a long , long time..,

it was worth it.

Hi C.M. & all,

Like seeing all the info, this person's neuroma is caused by injury

and involves deep rooted nerve. It's not considered Morton's but this

info is great, keep it coming and thanks to all.

:) Sue
