Reconditioning old leather/OT

I need some hints.

I bought this old stetson (must be at LEAST 15 years old) off Ebay... the

original owner wore it maybe once and it's totally gorgeous! It included the

extra hat band of feathers which has a Golden Eagel feather with it.

However, because it's lain in it's hat box for donkeys years, unloved and

untouched, the leather is a bit Harsh/crunchy... I've been using some " cream

Perfume " on it, the perfume is made with beeswax and cocoa butter (Rose Oil and

Sandalwood). While it smells wonderful, I'm not totally convinced that it's the

best thing for the leather strings on this hat.

Now I'm not totally bothered by it, I could get new ones, but if there is a

way of making the leather less scratchy and softer, I'm open to suggestions.

Cheers!

K~

I would buy a tub of Mink Oil and work it into the leather.

I have restores the look of many a leather saddle, reins, and boots that way.

Hugs~
