Guest guest
I did some research and came up with a remedy for horseflies on livestock and here are the amounts...BUT can anyone tell me what it should be diluted in? And how much? A spray bottle with water seems preferable. Ideas and changes welcome...but I do need a specific recipe. 10 parts Lemonscented Tea Tree (Leptospermom petersonii) 2 parts Sumatra Patchouli 2 parts Atlas Cedarwood Diana of Dewberry Hill Friends. Guest guest
Diana, that sounds like Marge Clark's (at Natures Gift) `skeeter-beater'. I think there's something on her website?? Guest guest
Not anymore, Dennis. Apparently she has pulled it off the site. I thought I had it but don't. Guest guest
We just got back from the Panama City FL where my SO was trying to fish with friend and the horse (black flys) were so bad that fishing was taking second place to doing the anti fly dance. No they weren't out in th Gulf but in the bouyous where there is saw-grass. Would this mixture be good for people too?? Being an oil it wouldn't wash off right away -- so for at least 10 min they could have gotten a line in. He has " boat " shoes on --they are a web material with rubber soles, and the flys bit through them to the point of bleeding and then swelling. Thank goodness he had long pants and a long sleeve shirt on. Guest guest
Rita, I know those nasty flies..and how they like to bite ankles and bite right through the holes of the shoelaces.. I wear bread wrappers over my feet, than socks and shoes..., they love to come to the beach the day before a storm up here. C-M
