All too often we devote 1 day for something we deem worthy of remembrance,

and then feel that our duty is done.

Thanks, Butch, for the reminder. Every day there are people all over the

world fighting. And every day they deserve our thoughts and prayers.

So here's to all people who do not live in peace, and to all of those working

for peace, whether in the military or otherwise--however they see fit, they

do us honor and deserve our thanks.

And those who have died in the fight, deserve to have not died in vain.

Hi y'all,

The Memorial Day holiday is over .. barbecue has been eaten, beer has

been consumed, and some folks remembered what the holiday was about and

paid tribute to the ones who should be remembered .. to those who gave

their all in the service of our Nation.

But we must remember them on the other 364 days of the year.

Like many of you, I have friends who are personally .. or who have loved

ones who are .. in harm's way now. All of them are not wearing military

uniforms .. some are contractors performing necessary duties in support

of our armed forces. One of the companies employing these hard working

folks in Haliburton .. a company that seemed to draw a lot of uninformed

criticism until Osama bin Laden mentioned them in a recent tape .. that

has given folks the understanding that they too are a pain in his side.

Just recently they lost members in Saudi .. in the Kobar Towers .. I

know others who have given their all for what they thought was right ..

35 Haliburton contractors have been lost so far .. as well as four folks

who worked with me here in Turkey. Its not about money .. money is not

what draws most of the expats to volunteer to perform duty in hostile

areas. I won't belabor or argue that point but I know of what I speak.

So .. I will continue to remember those who have fallen .. civilians who

were in the right place at the wrong time and civilians who voluntarily

went in harm's way .. as well as our brave and honorable men and women

wearing the proud uniform of the United States of America. I will do my

best to not forget to remember them on a daily basis. To me .. they are

my brothers and sisters in uniform .. and my counterparts in civilian

clothing .. and they are all heroes .. they deserve the time I devote to

remember them. :-)

I hope this helps http://members.cox.net/classicweb/Heroes/heroes.htm

Y'all keep smiling. Butch
