Guest guest
Hi, Hot spots are also known as protein bumps. Caused by far too much protein in a diet. Dogs for example only need about 15%, and thats if they are working dogs. If you check any bag of dog food, its way higher than that. They can be caused by fleabites, but even then, the food allergy comes into play Cats can get them too, They are very itchy, and the dogs will worry them into something much bigger. A sneaky trick is to bandage a front paw, and the dog will concentrate on getting the bandage off and leave the hot spots alone. Guest guest
A hot spot on dogs usaully means the dog is allergic to either his food or inhalent allergies. My GSD had a hot spot after I started giving him flax seeds. I stopped the flax seeds and his hot spot went away. Bonnie Washburn >I have always wondered, what is a hot spot on dogs? We have cats.
