I had one client report back about using our skeeterbeater blend on her horse.... I think she had it in a jojoba base, and wiped down his mane and tail... it kept the horseflies away at least for awhile. not sure if this is the solution for you... but it's a thought... (trying now to remember whether she used the skeeterbeater, or just the lemonscented tea tree...and I'm not 100% certain of which it was.) Guest guest
Thanks Marge. I have some Lemon Eucalyptus and Tea Tree. I wonder if I blended that in an oil base, if it would work. I have to wipe it on him too as he is a big scaredy cat of the sprayer!! Is your Skeeterbeater on your website? If so, do you mind sending over your URL? Guest guest
Just wanted to let ya'll know, thanks Marge for the info on the Lemon Tea Tree. I ordered some from Butch and since I still had a ton of flyspray, I added a little bit of the Lemon Tea Tree to it and it seems to help keep the horseflies away. Once I get near to running out, I'll try my hand at making my own, but this is working right now. But today, I was out with my horse and our neighbors horses and we noticed that they were getting attacked by a different looking type of horsefly. This thing is about twice the size of a horsefly, is black with a red body and almost looks like a wasp!!! Even the Lemon Tea Tree isn't keeping them away. Since we live in Texas, we're calling them Texas Horseflies, but I don't know what these things are!!! Butch I just find it interesting when someone thanks me for the information about an oil... and then states they bought it elsewhere... Guest guest
LOL! I have to admit, I kind of did too. And I have ordered from both of you and got great, wonderful service!
