Glad you smiled .. its great medicine fer'shur .. and your post is a

Yes .. and no. I'm out of Los Estados Unidos de América .. but I'm not

out of the country I've been living in since May 1988 (this trip) which

is Turkey. ;-) But I'm giving some heavy thought to coming back home

now .. leastwise living in both places on a part-time basis.

Not a dumb question at all .. just means you were confused on where I am

and why. I'm here for the low cost of living, the culture which I find

to my liking .. friendly and sincere folks who're formal enough to avoid

insults even when they are deserved .. and who're wise enough (including

those with little formal education) to know how to disagree without

being disagreeable. :-) I'm here because I like the way younger folks

respect their elders .. not just family but anyone who is older than

they are. I go to a Turkish family's home for dinner and watch the kids

(matters not if they are 40 year old kids) wait for Mamma and Pappa to

sit at the table before they take their seats .. I like that cause it is

how I was raised .. which was not a bad way methinks.

 

I like being in an area where a trip to another country is but a hop and

a skip .. like Americans going from one state to another.

 

And .. I like the food, the bread, the beer .. and the wimmens. ;-)

 

But .. I have made the Pilgrimage to the Rose Fields for the last ten

years or so. Unfortunately, it is a bit chilly now and raining .. and

that is NOT going to help the harvest at all. :-( As many of you know,

the Rosa damascena is harvested over a period of 4-5 weeks .. it can go

as long as 6 + weeks if weather conditions are ideal .. which they are

not now. For the new folks .. below are some photos of wild aromatics

I might be able to get Rose Wax .. there is only one feller here who

produces the Absolute in country .. others ship the Concrete direct to

Europe where the Absolute is extracted .. no extraction of Absolute

means no remaining Rose Wax. Turkish Rose Hydrosol I will always have

and along with it comes my guarantee that is has NOT been cut with

distilled water .. it is straight from the holding tank at the still.

No ma'am .. its a Bulgarian product and I have a preference for Turkish

Rose products. ;-) But .. Christine Ziegler (our Yankee List Momma)

and Marge Clark both offer the Bulgarian White Rose.

Glad you like it .. it is very popular with Red Mandarin and also with

Vanilla Absolute.
