I've a HUGE blister under one toe and me legs and feet ache. BUT it really was glorious fun. Tons of Naked people. The producer walked with me the whole way and we were very catty about how some people really shouldn't go naked. Then there was the naturist society. They were running too with a little cart with naturist literature. Before we got to " Hells Hill " (Which actually wasn't that bad) there were Village People look alikes performing for the crowd. Lot's of fun I got to see a small herd of Buffalo which Kevin explained had been transported here from CENTRAL PARK (Yes, NY) and were used as the main breeding stock to build up/start many of the now existing herds in the US... these of course were/are their decendants. There were TONS of funky costumes from elvis to Wonder Women, to Super man to Thing One and Thing two. Then of course there was the Tiki bar. I never saw the Tiki bar until I was back on the bus to go back home. It was a beautiful day for the race and being the perpetual idiot no sun block so now I'm also burned. I got lost GETTING there and Got lost going home. Walked a Heck of a lot further than 12k but had a ton of fun. Would I have had as much fun if Kevin HADN'T been walking and talking with me and giving me the tourist guide act... dunno. Prolly not. But it WAS fun and I just might do it again NEXT year! :-) Cheers! Kathleen Petrides The Woobey Queen http://www.fatcatcandleco.com
Guest guest
Thank you Kathleen for the report about the Bay to Breakers run-walk. I went vicariously with you! I should have gone since I have gone several times and always enjoyed it and I live here in Oakland.
