Hi there...

Proven? Is there ANYTHING in the world of aromatherapy that has been PROVEN?

But as far as results go, I've had good reports about our outdoor candles. I

use Citronella, Canadian Catnip and Peppermint (which is mainly for a little

smell relief). They STINK to high heaven, I'm talking GAG time. However,

apparently the little bloodsuckers agree because they don't hang around for

long. I

put this in our Soy Buckets. These are strictly outdoor candles because no

would want these puppies in their house!

I honestly think that the most effective way to use an insect repellant is

on the skin...

but we've had good feedback from folks using our SkeeterBeater in candles...

if you don't want the synergy...try lemonscented tea tree with some atlas

cedarwood and patchouli.

I beg to differ, useless trivia is what I carry in MY head... stuff that will

at no time be good for anything except to clutter up the brain.

This IS true. Candles can only be effective within a small area. People who

like to use these things are those who like to sit on the deck in the evening

and not want to bother getting all " smelled up " with bug repellants. I have

found that they can be helpful when I'm out there sipping a bit of wine and

enjoying the quiet evening. I like to place one on the table and one behind my

chair. It's not perfect, but it helps. ;-)

I saw a study once about the effectiveness of different kinds of bug

repellents. They all had their drawbacks and strengths. The biggest

drawback of candles is that they only reach as far as the smoke/scent

will go which is only a couple feet. I'm full of useless trivia. LOL
