Guest guest
Hi Anya I just read your page on " bad " AT books, and I really like what you said about Lawless' book, which I own and enjoy, but basically for the " pretty pictures " !!! Then I scrolled down and saw your list of books you are not going to review. Because they are on this page, does it mean that you consider all of those books to be " bad " ? I haven't been on this list for long, and I know this topic comes up every now and then (and Butch calls a lot of them " novels " , I think), but it does kind of seem like a pretty exhaustive list of the AT books accessible (price and understanding) to laypeople...? .... Ok, now I have read your " good " books page http://member.newsguy.com/~herblady/atgoodbooks.htm - of course I don't think I have one of them... sigh....and can't (yet?) spend the money some of those cost. It sure is a confusing maze out there... what's that saying...? " a fool and his money are soon parted " ...? Sigh. Anne <--- feeling foolish but really getting a lot out of this list... Sorry to say, yes. When I think of all the money and time I invested over the years on these fairy tales, it's sad. I kept buying them, hoping to find some properly-referenced, non-plageristic information, but it just didn't happen. >I haven't been on this list for long, and I know this topic comes up >every now and then (and Butch calls a lot of them " novels " , I think), >but it does kind of seem like a pretty exhaustive list of the AT books >accessible (price and understanding) to laypeople...? >Ok, now I have read your " good " books page >http://member.newsguy.com/~herblady/atgoodbooks.htm >- of course I don't think I have one of them... sigh....and can't >(yet?) spend the money some of those cost. >It sure is a confusing maze out there... >what's that saying...? I made my 'wasted my money' part of this reply before I scrolled down and saw your comment. I once thought of selling them on Ebay to recoup my money, but that wouldn't be ethical, as I'd just be passing on BS to some AT enthusiast. So I keep them, and just wonder about the future of the AT community. I'm an optimist, so I hope for the best. I know there are good people out there, doing research, helping others with their basic AT skills, and that is wonderful. Like it says on my homepage for the AT debunked and defended site " I want to believe " , but first I have to dig through the dross to find a truthful author. http://member.newsguy.com/~herblady
