Guest guest
I was writing this out for my telly gig (From Dr. Phil's BooK) and It sorta amazed me. I know it's not at, but it IS interesting... especially for those who JUST don't know why they have the yearly creep: **************************** Hit List of Weight Gaining behaviours: I'm presenting a few ideas today on what we do that couses an annual weight gain and if we cut them out of our lives, that would prevent our yearly gains of several pounds. Now we don't do ALL of the things found on this list, but just check the yearly gain and see if we can't change or even eliminate these damaging behaviours that we indulge in. 1. Second Helpings. If you indulge in second helpings, at least three times a week, that is aprx 200 calories Per SERVING which is 600 extra calories per week, 31, 200 calories a year and will lead to a weight gain of 9 pounds. 2. Daily overeating by at least 380 calories is 2660 calories a WEEK138,320 calories a year and a weight gain of 40 pounds for that year. 3. Eating a Large Bagel instead of a small bagel 3x a week is 500 calories per week, 26000 per year and 8 pounds as a result. 4. Eating a larger burger like a big mac instead of a small one twice a week is 620 extra calories a week, 32,240 per year and a weight gain of 9 pounds 5. One glazed donut daily is 1450 extra calories for the week, 75,400 calories a year with a weight gain of 21 pounds... one lousy donut... Time to cut out the coffee break 6. For those of you who, like me, prefer the taste of whole milk to skim (I have changed to 1%, but I fought it big time) 2 cups of whole milk vs 2 cups of skim milk daily is 896 calories a week, 46,600 calories a year, a weigh gain of 13 pounds a year. 7. 1 on diet softdrink a day instead of a diet is 1,008 calories a week, 52,400 extra calories a year and a weight gain of 15 pounds 8. 15 to 20 potato chips a day is 1050 calories per week, 54,600 calories a year and a weight gain of 16 pounds 9. one bowl of ice cream 5x a week instead of frozen non-fat Yoghurt is 600 extra calories a week, 31,200 calories a year and a weight gain of 9 pounds 10. Bingeing 2x a week, (1k to 3k per binge) 2K to 6K extra calories per week, and will give you a 30 to 90 pound gain per year. 11. Replacing home cooked meals with fast food meals 5x a week (example lunch) is 280 extra calories per week, 14,560 per year and a weight gain of 4 pounds (that is assuming you're staying away from the burger and chips of course) 12. Snacking while watching telly, 5 hours a week (136 extra calories per snack) is 680 extra calories a week, 35,360 calories a year and a weight gain of 10 pounds a year. 13. Nighttime eating, 5x a week, 270 calories per episode, 1,350 calories per week, 70,200 extra calories per year and a weight gain of 20 pounds 14. Three beers just once a week will give you 438 extra calories a week, 22,776 per year and a weight gain of 6.5 pounds... ************************************* Now I know that we don't do these as presented, instead we mix and match our bad behaviours... by being aware of what they are costing you in weight gain each year and eliminating much of it, you encourage better food habits and assist your goal to lose weight. *********************************** Cheers!
