Okay. For the sake of fairness, I did receive something privately in my mail that was of interest when it came to non-religous reasons FOR a circ. The reason given was that in tropical climates, those who still had an intact foreskin were at risk for Foreskin Cheese and that it is INDEED a matter of cleanliness. Now. I declined to enquire further about " foreskin cheese. " I decided that THAT was one particular subject I don't mind being ignorant about... I figure I gotta pretty good idea anyway! And with that little delectable tidbit... I'm off to bed! Cheers! Kathleen Petrides The Woobey Queen http://www.fatcatcandleco.com
Guest guest
Kathleen,I have been a nurse for many years and have seen a circumcision done. It is indeed very painful and stressful for a baby.At the time I had my boys I was a new nurse and still a little unsure of myself. If I had been a little more assertive at the time I think I would have insisted on it being done with an anesthetic. All it would take is a small injection at the base of the penis.I dont understand why men wouldnt be a little more sympathetic to this.that being siad, I woudl still circumcise.the majority of male babies are circumsised at birth.I have read instances where some mothers dont have it done, and the man later in life, feels " different " from others and opts to have it done then. from what I have heard it is much more problematic as an adult.its a big decision to make, and I would encourage the mother to research and also talk with the doctor. Guest guest
My son was circ at birth, but not at the hospital. Ours was for religious reasons. The moyel came to the house, gave my son at 7 days an small shot to deaden the area and in less than a minute he was done. There were no tears, nothing. He was perfectly fine and it was a wonderful event. He was perfectly fine and it was a wonderful event. Ok, a moyel works for 30 years, and collects all the foreskins he snips. One day he walks into a leatherworker's shop and hands over the bag of foreskins and asks that the leatherworker create something for him out of the snips. Two weeks later, he goes back to the shop. The leatherworker hands him a wallet. " What's this, " the moyel asks? I give you all those foreskins and you hand me a little wallet? " " It's a great deal, " replies the leatherworker, " if you rub it, it turns into a suitcase. " http://member.newsguy.com/~herblady
Guest guest
Looks like this has taken on a more mundane tone, so I thought I'd share if it will help anyone. My son was NOT and got infections as a child and I always had to remind him to clean himself. Also I DO think as he grew up he felt " different " . He died in a sudden accident 15 years ago as a teen, so I don't know if he would have chosen as an adult to have an operation or not...but if I had to decide on a baby...yes, do it...and use anesthetic.
