Guest guest
Dear Chintamani, I was doing research for a patient that I was treating in clinic for SLE and found that it most always begins with an external attack of some sort. According to my research, SLE usually corresponds to Hot painful obstruction which is the result of pathogenic wind, cold, dampness, being constrained over long periods of time and then transforming into heat. The nutritive and protective qi are not in harmony, the channels and collaterals are obstructed by blood stasis, and the movement of qi and blood are not smooth. The main treatment principle is to harmonize the nutritive, clear heat, or cold, disperse wind, transform damp, move blood and unblock the channels. We used a modified Juan Bi Tang. When we asked her if she had experienced a cold or flu right before the initial onset of her Lupus she nearly hit the floor. She confirmed that she had had an ear infection and strep throat that she " never quite got over " . She said she had always believed that it had something to do with the onset of her symptoms but that all her western M.D.'s had just scoffed at that idea and had told her that the two were in no way related. I can get you the name of the book I found my information in if you would like. I will be seeing her again this week and will report on how she feels. Best of luck to you! Warm regards, Ann E. Guest guest
What kind of Lupus are you talking about? Is it Wen Du Fa Ban, Shui Zhong, Bi Zheng, Xu Lao? If you're not familiar with the above, symptoms will be helpful for differential diagnosis, i.e. tongue, pulse to begin with; then, how's the urine, is there fever, stool, skin appearance, is px. cold, irritability, complexion, puffy face or not, abdominal distention or not, edema? And before she responds well to your treatment, doctors will have to weene her off steroids.
