Hi Rebekka,

PTSD and the whole spectrum of Heart shock and traumas are becoming epidemic

and is considered to be one of the blocks to healing. Dr. Leon Hammer

speaks of this block often.

Some of the major findings are a rough vibration over the entire pulse and

an elevated rate (how high depending on the maturity/strength of the

individual and the nature of the trauma). With the obvious nature of this

child's trauma I would be expecting these two pathognomonic signs to be

prominent.

The herbal treatment is essentially to modify Sheng Mai San (using xi yang

shen in place of or with ren shen, and other herbs to stabilize the Heart

and Kidneys (as trauma also depletes Kidney yang (Kiiko's trauma treatment

addresses this with her acupuncture protocol)). In addition to the Sheng

Mai San, we concurrently prescribe Yunnan Bai Yao. For a 5 year old, there

is a specific dosage range as this is a strong invigorating formula and must

be used with care. (if you need the dosages, let me know)

I have used these with little kids with car accident traumas, birth trauma,

etc. and it is very safe and effective.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
