Guest guest
I think that those getting paid for treating workers comp in NY are working in chiropractors' or doctors' offices, and the billing is done by the chiro or MD. I don't have direct knowledge of this but have heard it talked about by colleagues in the area. Hi, I met someone at the AAAOM conference in New Orleans from NY and he said he gets paid for treating workers comp. To my knowledge, only M.D.s certified in acu (in NY) get paid for that and not us L.Ac.'s Anyone hear anything different about that? Does workers comp now pay us in NY? Thanks, Elie Directory http://www.tcmdirectory.com

Guest guest
According to NYS law L.Ac may be employed by another acupuncturist or MD certified in Acupuncture. I work in the office with MD certified in acupuncture and I see few workscomp pts. I sign SOAP notes myself but I do not know how they bill it after. BTW not many MDs practice acupuncture after finishing their 300 hours training. My doctor always ask me to tech and show her how to treat various problems and she is rarely doing any treatment. As she says she feel very incompetent doing it. The 300 hours training is a joke. Also there is no time for MD to spend even 10-15 min for acupuncture treatment in a busy clinic. I doubt there are many practicing MD acupuncturists and they make any competition to licensed acupuncturists.
