Guest guest
Dear group. I have a patient coming in tommorow who I have never met. She is in her mid thirties. Caucasion. When she was a child she broke her right leg. Last year she was diagnosed as hypothyroid and was put on synthroid. Now whenever she ovulates her right leg becomes swollen which her doctor says is connected to an inefficient lymph system. Any suggestions? Thank you, Petra. Guest guest
Hello group. It is just her right lower leg including knee. Just for the short time that she is ovulating is it very swollen. She does not have a MDs DX of Lymphodema. It is not hot. She also only has right side ovarian pain every month, a little odd.Her pulse is deep, slippery and thready. Tongue not too red, thick, yellow coat.. She was hit by a car as a child and had her tibia and femor broken. She has been trying to get pregnant and kept miscarrying at which point they diagnosed her as hypothyroid and put her on synthroid. This was around December and also when the swelling began. Before her leg would only swell on long flights. She has allergies, cold extremities. I am on vacation and away from her file but any feedback would be appreciated here. Thank you .Philip Cusick <pkcusick wrote: Petra- tell us more when you find out. does her whole leg swell or just her ankle or knee? is it a hot swelling? does it happen every month or only when the right ovary ovulates?
