Guest guest
Hi Karen, I'm curious if you're familiar with Thea Elijah's work. She's an herbalist in the " Five Element " tradition. I know very little about her, except what I've read in Lonny Jarrett's " Practice of " ; she co-wrote the herbal protocols chapter and some notes that a friend passed down from a short workshop. Interesting how she works in 5 E into herbs and animates the single herbs with more psycho-spiritual characteristics. I don't know if this info is intuitively received by her or if it is an integration of several traditions. However, much of what I have read makes a lot of sense. And it also points to the need for us to have " relationships " with the single herbs in a deeper way than just calling them warm or cold... and remembering them by indication and function. I bring her up, because her methodology may be more effective for 5 E trained practitioners, since she speaks your language, per se. [image: Thea Elijah] *Director, Chinese Herbal Studies, Academy for Five Element Acupuncture, Hallandale Beach, FL* Thea Elijah has studied Chinese herbal medicine for 20 years. A graduate of Traditional Acupuncture Institute (TAI), she has studied with Ted Kaptchuk, Leon Hammer and Lonny Jarrett. Elisabeth Roche de la Vale and J. R. Worsley have been equally influential in shaping her understanding of the depth of Chinese medicine. She currently directs the Chinese Herbal Studies department of the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture. Hope this helps, k.
