Guest guest
Got a new patient in for a cyst on GB41. 10y ago he feet were runover by a truck. took the docs 6 surg, 3 on ea foot to get humpty dumpty back together. now gets feet swelling an achiness will shi stranding. (ankles enlarged due to surg, +edema) he's an LMT, so works on his feet. T: red, swollen, scallops, yellow gr C P: huan. + irrit/anger easy, H/A @ tai yang with ohol (following day, 1-2x /mo). chinese lit all say to lance, squeeze out the fluid, moxa (on ginger/garlic) and bandage. some say to use a hot needle. tried this with a lancet, 34g (largest i've got) needle, heated. could only get a few drops of blood. so i opted to surround the dragon, tx the pattern (ph nodulation, d/h, liv yg). can't find herbal info on cysts. best i could do were neck nodulation, goiter px, so worked from that: wu pi san + ph noduel herbs: hai zao, kun bu, zhe bei mu, ban xia + herbs from long dan xie gan tang. something like that. soo. . . looking for info on lancing cysts: have you done it, what's the procedure. also, additional tx suggestions based on clinic successes or research you come across would be helpful. also, would there be any scope of practice issues re: lancing in clinic that i should be aware of? thanks in adv, kath -- Kath Bartlett, LAc, MS, BA UCLA Oriental Medicine Experienced, Dedicated, Effective Asheville Center For 70 Woodfin Place, Suite West Wing Two Asheville, NC 28801 828.258.2777 kbartlett www.AcupunctureAsheville.com
Guest guest
I've worked on patients with boils and with cysts. With the boils, surrounding the dragon brought things to a head and the boils resolved very quickly. When I did the same with cysts, I didn't get good results. Going right into the cyst with a needle, however, did work. Peace, Liz - PCOM NY Alumni ; PCOM SD Alumni ; PCOM Alumni google group ; TCM List Wednesday, March 07, 2007 10:23 PM Lancing and Tx Cysts?
