Guest guest
Does anyone have any experience treating issues with the dysfunction of the ileocecal valve in terms of closing inappropriately or not closing at all? one can palpate for for pain in the ADB lower right quadrant just inside the crest of the ileum bone. Palpate deeper and a knot often appears. It can mimic appendicitis but has no associated symptoms of fever and high white cell count. Mostly, patients feel low back pain, right shoulder pain, h/a, constipation, dark circles, even body aches and pains (fibromyalgia??) among other sx. Now for the question: how to address this using TCM? Any ideas or experience? thanks, Diane
Guest guest
You might want to check into abdominal palpation and the works of such author's as Kiiko Matsumoto, who does discuss this area as related to one of three possible dx's : spleen xu, lung xu or my favorite immune issues. The only way, in this system to differentiate which one it is, is to hold the abdominal pain area and then palpate the channels that might be related. The one that decreases the abdominal pain by 50% or more is likely the one and also gives you the dx. Mike W. Guest guest
Hi Diane, I asked the same question here, back about Sept 17,2006. Got good responses. You should be able to find thoses messages at the site archives for ca. 9/17-19/2006. If not, I've saved copies of them. -- Version: 7.5.441 / Virus Database: 268.18.1/690 - Release 2/16/2007 2:25 PM
